Electronic Registration in Higher Education
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, the electronic registration process for first-year students for the 2026–2027 academic year commenced through the platform of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports: https://eregister.it.minedu.gov.gr/
On the first day of operation of the platform, a technical issue was observed in the electronic registration process, causing difficulties and delays in the completion of first-year students’ registrations.
The issue was identified in the network infrastructure of the platform operated by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports. As a result, it was not possible to establish a connection with the Interoperability Center (KE.D.) of the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance and, consequently, with IDIKA’s infrastructure.
Through KE.D., the digital service for the verification of the Social Security Number (AMKA) is accessed from the AMKA-EMAES Registry, which is maintained by IDIKA. Verification of the AMKA through IDIKA’s digital services is a prerequisite for completing the electronic registration process.
It is clarified that IDIKA’s infrastructure and digital services operated normally throughout the entire process, providing uninterrupted interoperability between the Public Administration and the AMKA Registry. The volume of requests handled on a daily basis through the relevant services is several times higher than the volume required for AMKA verification as part of the students’ electronic registration process.
At the same time, students who contacted the IDIKA Customer Service Office received the necessary support to update their personal information. Once the electronic registration platform was able to resume processing, the registrations were successfully completed.
On August 27, the IDIKA Customer Service Office received more than 500 calls, with simultaneous service provided through 18 telephone lines. The increased number of calls was also attributed to a message displayed on the electronic registration platform, https://eregister.it.minedu.gov.gr/, stating that a connection to IDIKA could not be established, although IDIKA’s infrastructure and relevant digital services were operating normally.
IDIKA S.A. remains consistently committed to serving citizens by providing reliable and secure digital services and supporting them on all matters falling within its area of responsibility.
