Brief Description |
The project constitutes a key initiative aimed at upgrading Health Units to a level comparable to that of the Health Units where the Integrated Health Information System (IHIS) was put into production during the 3rd Community Support Framework (CSF). The project aims to:
- Implement an integrated and homogeneous solution that is compatible with the policies and priorities of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity, while ensuring system interoperability and cost reduction.
- Provide IT support for a substantial part of the core business processes of the respective Health Units through state-of-the-art technology.
- Standardise key business processes, including accounting and financial management, procurement and materials management, referrals, and the maintenance of medical records.
- Strengthen Human Resources through the provision of new tools and improve employee job satisfaction.
- Improve system performance across critical areas, including the immediate availability of information on the organisation's financial and operational position (fixed assets, liabilities and receivables), cost monitoring, availability of medical records, and mechanisms for capturing business data (data capture).
- Enable the collection of consolidated data and facilitate its use, in conjunction with the integrated Business Intelligence (BI) system, for policy-making.
- Create and/or leverage structures, infrastructure and standards that will enable the comprehensive, reliable and centralised management and resolution of ICT-related issues in the healthcare sector in Greece, in conjunction with the implemented Integrated Health Information System (IHIS) projects.
- Establish a secure framework for the management of and access to information that will contribute to improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery, while ensuring the confidentiality of information.
