On April 29th, Work Package 4 (WP4) of the Joint Action on Strengthening the European Cancer Workforce (JA OriON) organised a workshop with representatives of Belgian cancer patient organisations to discuss the national implementation of the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP).

The workshop took place at the offices of Sciensano and was moderated by Stefan Gijssels from the Patient Expert Center. It aimed to examine how the Plan is being taken up in Belgium, focusing on four key thematic areas:

🔔 Awareness

📌 Relevance

🤝 Stakeholder engagement

🧠 Knowledge integration

The event provided a valuable platform for dialogue between patient advocates and public health stakeholders, ensuring that the patient voice continues to play a central role in shaping national cancer policy.

We extend our sincere thanks to the participating organisations for their contributions and insights:
KickCancer, Think Pink, Gynca’s, Asbl Baob Brussels, Vivre comme Avant, CMP Vlaanderen vzw, Werkgroep Hersentumoren vzw, Hodgkin en non-Hodgkin vzw, and Naboram vzw.
